For your Tanzania Trophy Hunting Safari, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel and hunting insurance before departure.
Because hunting takes place in remote wilderness areas, your insurance should provide adequate protection for medical emergencies, evacuation, personal belongings, accidental injury and cancellation of your safari.
Your insurance should include:
1. Accidental Death & Permanent Disability
Coverage for accidental death, permanent disability or serious injury resulting from an insured accident during the trip.
2. Emergency Medical & Major Medical Expenses
Coverage for emergency treatment, hospitalization, doctors, medication and other medically necessary expenses while travelling in Tanzania.
3. Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation
This is particularly important for a remote hunting safari. The policy should cover emergency evacuation from the hunting area to an appropriate medical facility and, when medically necessary, repatriation to your home country. Remote Tanzania locations can require expensive air evacuation, so check the policy limit carefully.
4. Loss, Theft or Damage of Personal Effects
Coverage for luggage, clothing, personal equipment and other belongings that are lost, stolen or damaged during the journey.
Hunters should also check whether the policy provides appropriate coverage for rifles, ammunition, hunting equipment, cameras and other high-value equipment, as standard baggage limits may be insufficient.
5. Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption
Coverage for eligible cancellation or interruption costs if you are unable to travel or must terminate your safari early because of a covered event, such as serious illness, injury or certain family emergencies.
When selecting a policy, make sure the cancellation limit is sufficient to cover the non-refundable portion of your hunting safari, flights and other prepaid travel arrangements.
